Calling all outdoor-loving families! If you’re looking for a spring weekend full of excitement, fresh air, and unforgettable memories, you won’t want to miss our Annual Trout Fishing Tournament right here at Twin Bridge Campground in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania.
From Friday, May 2nd through Sunday, May 4th, we’re welcoming families from near and far to join us for one of our favorite events of the year—a weekend packed with friendly competition, relaxing vibes, and good old-fashioned fun.
Whether your crew is full of seasoned anglers or total beginners, this tournament is for everyone, and we can’t wait to welcome you to our campground for a weekend you’ll be talking about all summer long.
What’s the Trout Tournament All About?
Every spring, we host our Trout Fishing Tournament as a way to bring our camping community together and celebrate one of the best parts of being outdoors: casting a line and seeing what bites!
The streams that flow through Twin Bridge are regularly stocked, and May is the perfect time to fish. The water’s clear, the trout are biting, and the setting is absolutely beautiful—trees budding, birds singing, and families gathered around with rods and reels in hand.
Our tournament is designed to be inclusive and fun for all ages. We have separate categories for kids, teens, and adults, so no matter your age or experience level, there’s a chance to join in the fun and maybe even walk away with some bragging rights! We recommend booking your stay early!
Why Families Love It
We’ve found that this event brings out the very best in family camping. Kids light up when they catch their first fish (or their biggest one yet!), and parents love getting to share the experience without the stress of a super competitive atmosphere.
What we hear most often from returning families is this: “We come for the fishing, but we stay for the memories.” And it’s true! There’s something special about those early mornings by the water, casting lines with your kids, sharing snacks, and cheering each other on. It’s the kind of quality time that’s hard to find in everyday life—and it’s exactly why we do what we do.
And don’t worry, if someone in your group isn’t into fishing, they won’t be left out. We always have plenty of non-fishing fun happening throughout the weekend. From crafts and games for the kids to campfire chats, nature walks, and just relaxing by the stream, there’s no shortage of things to do.
Food, Fun, and Everything in Between
Let’s be real—fishing builds up an appetite! That’s why we’ve got great food options available throughout the weekend. Whether it’s a warm breakfast sandwich before heading out to the water or a burger and a soda after the afternoon weigh-in, we’ve got you covered.
And don’t be surprised if you catch the scent of s’mores or the sound of kids laughing around a firepit in the evening. That’s the kind of weekend we’re all about—relaxed, welcoming, and full of simple joys.
We encourage families to bring their favorite games and outdoor gear, too. Some bring lawn games like cornhole or ladder toss, while others bring their bikes or hammocks. There’s something magical about letting the kids roam a bit (safely, of course) while the adults enjoy a cup of coffee or an afternoon chat with fellow campers.
